The basics
Section titled “The basics”Is Stream UI Fun Studio free?
Section titled “Is Stream UI Fun Studio free?”Yes. The app and its 21 free elements are free, with no account and no card needed. Packs in the Store tab are optional paid extras. See Free elements catalog.
Does it work on Mac or Linux?
Section titled “Does it work on Mac or Linux?”Yes. Stream UI Fun Studio runs on Windows 10 and 11, macOS, and Debian-based Linux (like Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint and Pop!_OS). These docs show the steps for your system: switch it with Steps for under a page’s title, or the menu at the top. See Download and install.
The download page says “Coming soon”. Where do I get the app?
Section titled “The download page says “Coming soon”. Where do I get the app?”If streamui.fun/download still says Coming soon, the app isn’t out yet. Join the .fun Squad on that page to hear the moment it lands (plus 10% off your first purchase).
My computer warns me when I open the app for the first time. Is that OK?
Section titled “My computer warns me when I open the app for the first time. Is that OK?”Windows may say “Windows protected your PC”. The installer isn’t code-signed yet, so Windows may show this warning. If you downloaded it from streamui.fun, click More info, then Run anyway.
Your Mac may say the app can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it. The app isn’t notarized by Apple yet, so Gatekeeper may block it. If you downloaded it from streamui.fun, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
Your software center may say the package is from an unknown or third-party source. That’s normal for a .deb you download yourself. If you downloaded it from streamui.fun, go ahead and install it.
Only download the app from streamui.fun. See Download and install.
Do I need to be online?
Section titled “Do I need to be online?”Only for some things: the Store, fetching your counts and picture, checking license keys and updates. Customizing elements, adding them to OBS and downloading videos all happen on your computer. See Privacy: what the app sends.
Do you collect my data?
Section titled “Do you collect my data?”No. Nothing about you is sent to us, and the app has no account or usage tracking. Count and picture lookups only send your handle, and only when you ask. See Privacy: what the app sends.
Elements and events
Section titled “Elements and events”How do I put an element on my stream?
Section titled “How do I put an element on my stream?”Click an element in the Elements tab, change what you like, then click Add to my stream. With OBS open, pick a scene and click Add to OBS. Using another app? The app shows a step-by-step guide for it. See Quick start.
How do I test an element before I go live?
Section titled “How do I test an element before I go live?”Right after you add it to OBS, click Play now on the It’s in OBS! screen. Later, hide and show its source in OBS (the eye icon) or press its hotkey. See Test your elements.
Do elements play by themselves when someone follows or subscribes?
Section titled “Do elements play by themselves when someone follows or subscribes?”No, and we’d rather tell you straight away. Elements are animations that play on cue, not alerts. They don’t know when someone follows, subscribes or tips, and StreamElements’ Emulate button doesn’t trigger them either.
- In OBS, if the app added the element for you: it plays when its source loads, on a repeat timer if you set one, when you click Play now, and (while Play when the scene becomes visible is on, as it is by default) when its scene goes live or you show its source with a hotkey or Stream Deck button.
- Everywhere else (other streaming apps, StreamElements, or OBS by hand): it plays when its source loads. Refresh the source to play it again.
What works well in OBS: give the element a hotkey or Stream Deck button and press it when you thank someone, or let it repeat every few minutes as a follow reminder. See How elements play and Hotkeys and Stream Deck.
Does my follower count update live on stream?
Section titled “Does my follower count update live on stream?”No. Elements show the count you last fetched or typed. To refresh it, press Fetch counts, or turn on Auto-fetch once a day so it updates the first time you open the app each day. Elements already in OBS pick up the new number by themselves. See Show your real follower counts.
Can I have two versions of the same element?
Section titled “Can I have two versions of the same element?”Yes. In the editor, click Make a copy. The copy has its own settings, so you can keep, say, a light one and a bold one. See Make copies and reset changes.
Streaming apps
Section titled “Streaming apps”Does it work without OBS?
Section titled “Does it work without OBS?”Yes. The app has step-by-step guides for Streamlabs Desktop, XSplit Broadcaster, PRISM Live Studio, Meld Studio, TikTok LIVE Studio and StreamElements. You can also download most elements as a video and use it anywhere (live widgets like a chat box can’t be saved as a video). See Pick your streaming app.
Which OBS do I need?
Section titled “Which OBS do I need?”OBS Studio 28 or newer, on the same computer as the app. The first time, the app shows you how to switch on OBS’s connection setting (the WebSocket server). After that, Add to my stream sets everything up for you. See Connect the app to OBS.
Can I use it on two PCs?
Section titled “Can I use it on two PCs?”Yes, in two ways:
- Two-PC streaming setup: automatic adding only works when OBS runs on the same computer as the app. For OBS on your streaming PC, save the element with More formats → HTML folder, copy the folder over and add it as a browser source there. See Add to OBS by hand.
- App on a second computer (like a laptop): install it there too and use Restore purchases to get your packs. Packs with a license key ask for the key on each computer, and each computer counts as one use. See Restore purchases on a new PC.
Videos
Section titled “Videos”Do downloaded videos have sound?
Section titled “Do downloaded videos have sound?”Yes, if you picked a sound for the element (turn on Advanced and look in the Effects group). Download then saves the video with the sound. In More formats you can switch Include the element’s sound on or off. GIFs have no sound. See Download a video.
Where are my downloaded videos?
Section titled “Where are my downloaded videos?”In Videos\Stream UI Fun Studio, unless you picked another place in the save window. After a download, click Show in folder to jump straight to the file.
Can I use the videos in CapCut, TikTok or a video editor?
Section titled “Can I use the videos in CapCut, TikTok or a video editor?”Yes. In More formats, pick Phone apps for an MP4 on a green screen, or Video editors for a MOV with a see-through background. See Use your videos anywhere.
Purchases
Section titled “Purchases”I bought a pack on the website. How do I get it into the app?
Section titled “I bought a pack on the website. How do I get it into the app?”In your Gumroad library, download the purchase’s .zip. Then drag the whole .zip onto the app window (no need to unzip it), or go to Store → My purchases and click Browse…. Double-clicking the .zip won’t open it in the app. See Bought on the website?
Do chat and goal widgets work on YouTube or Kick?
Section titled “Do chat and goal widgets work on YouTube or Kick?”Not straight in OBS. There (and in other apps’ browser sources), live widgets from packs only read Twitch chat, which brings in chat messages, subs, cheers and raids. Inside a StreamElements overlay, they get their chat and events from StreamElements instead, including follows and tips, so they can work with the platforms your StreamElements account is connected to. Check the product page before you buy: it lists the platforms each widget is made for. See Use elements from packs.
I got a new computer. Do I have to buy my packs again?
Section titled “I got a new computer. Do I have to buy my packs again?”No. Install the app, then click Restore purchases in Store → My purchases. Everything you bought is still in your Gumroad library. See Restore purchases on a new PC.
Something I bought doesn’t work. Can I get a refund?
Section titled “Something I bought doesn’t work. Can I get a refund?”Tell us within 14 days. We’ll try to fix it first, and if we can’t, you get a full refund. See Refunds and your licence.
